The 2016 People’s Choice Awards kicked off the awards season with remarkable red carpet showings from Hollywood’s hottest stars. We’ve all seen the designer gowns and evening dresses that err on the side of safe in Hollywood events such as this one. But it seems like everyone has gotten the memo for vampy glamour this time around. Some of the best-dressed celebrities at the awards ceremony were clad in all-black ensembles, and this marks the start of an exciting red carpet season.
Check out four of the most memorable all-black looks from the 2016 People’s Choice Awards:
1. Lucy Hale
Lucy Hale tried her hand at gothic glamour and successfully charmed on the red carpet. She wore a flounced column dress with peek-a-boo details, which she toned down with a black clutch and a pair of black heels. Her hair was styled in a chic updo, and she finished off her look with diamonds and a burgundy lip.
The Pretty Little Liars star wore a dress from Self-Portrait, which features a V-shaped neckline with lace-up detail, a sleeveless design, a sheer skirt, detailed mesh, a concealed zip, a nude skirt lining, and a mix of organza, lace, and structured crepe.
She paired it with the Besame pumps from Brian Atwood, which feature silk dyed calf hair, pointed toes, interior side stitching, covered heels, and a wave-sided silhouette.
Her accessories consisted of a black clutch from Lee Savage and statement jewels from Vanessa Leu. Her drop earrings and statement ring feature conflict-free opaque diamonds, conflict-free black diamonds, and reclaimed 18k black gold.
2. Keke Palmer
Keke Palmer brought drama on the red carpet with a sexy black lace crop top and skirt combo that oozed subtle sensuality. She finished off her look with minimal makeup and an assortment of jewels from Anne Sisteron and Nissa Jewelry.
The 22-year-old star wore an ensemble from Yousef Al-Jasmi. She wore a crop top with black lace, long sleeves, and asymmetrical details on the neckline. The skirt was worn high on the waist and had a floor-length hemline.
3. Lea Michele
Lea Michele stepped out on the red carpet in a fun and sexy outfit that fully embodied the spirit of the evening. She wore a little black dress with sheer details, black-and-gold pumps, stunning jewels, and a metal belt that unexpectedly pulled the look together. Her hair was styled in a sleek bun to show off her diamond earrings from Anita Ko and a vampy pout.
The Scream Queens actress wore a dress from Elie Saab’s fall/winter 2015 ready-to-wear collection, which features long sleeves, beaded details, and lace appliques.
She styled it with a gold plate belt from Elie Saab, which has a leather strap, a gold bracket, and a stud fastening.
Lea completed her look with Brian Atwood pumps, which feature black suede, pointed toes, gold-tone hardware, self-covered heels, adjustable ankle straps, and a T-strap silhouette.
4. Shay Mitchell
Shay Mitchell sure knows how to make an entrance. She turned heads in a sultry ensemble that flaunted her assets. Her black gown featured a high slit that showed off her toned legs and metallic heels. Minimal makeup, silver accessories, and sleek hair capped off her fantastic red carpet look.
The 28-year-old actress wore a dress from Haney, which features a halter neckline, a high slit, an open back, and metallic detailing.
She wore a pair of silver slingback sandals from Giuseppe Zanotti Design, which feature silver leather, open toes, high stiletto heels, and brand-embossed insoles.
Shay carried a silver rectangular box metal clutch from KOTUR, which features a cut glass clasp and signature brocade lining.
