The 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards Red Carpet Roundup

The 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards delivered an impressive roster of A-list stars. It also produced a number of unforgettable moments that have caused quite a stir on the internet. Hollywood is still buzzing after a flurry of ceremonies that kicked off the awards season, such as this year’s People’s Choice Awards and the Golden Globe Awards.

This time, the atmosphere seemed more relaxed than in the two previous awards shows. For starters, the traditional red carpet was nowhere in sight as it was replaced by a baby blue one that seemed to put everyone at ease almost immediately. Understated elegance seemed to be the biggest trend at the prestigious event, with countless stars opting for subtle sophistication over flashy ensembles.

Here are some of the most memorable looks at the 2016 Critics’ Choice Awards:

1. Alicia Vikander

Alicia Vikander has been on a multitude of best-dressed lists since she was catapulted into superstardom. The Louis Vuitton muse is beautiful, effortlessly stylish, and most of all, she knows the true meaning of restraint. Case in point: Her meticulously detailed custom-made gown from Mary Katrantzou is a unique piece that could easily overwhelm anyone else. But in Alicia’s capable hands, the entire look just works. Minimal styling is the way to go with this kind of dress, and that’s what makes Alicia stand out in the crowd. Her romantic updo, dainty earrings, and soft pink lips finish off this perfect look from one of our favorite style stars.
